Saving a dog – it goes both ways

Posted on 18. May, 2012 by in Uncategorized

The rescue stories are starting to roll in. I have gone through a few boxes of tissues so far reading about these abandoned and abused dogs. I’ve also had a lot of laughs reading their new “pet human’s” take on their funny personalities, like Griffyn the Wolf Hound cross who entertains his new family with his love of mud and new-found love of being a “collector” (even a plastic bowl from the kitchen isn’t safe).

Reading the positive stories have definitely left me with a sense of hope and wanting to read more rather than just wanting to switch off my computer, which is what I felt like doing when I used to read all the horrible stories I found that didn’t have a happy ending with my google searches. Of course this isn’t Hollywood and there are a lot of dogs that can’t be saved. With this collection though, I want to tell people the story of success and leave them with a sense of hope and a feeling that there can be something done. Just one act of kindness can make all the difference. The general consensus of people who have emailed me have told me how much joy their rescued dog has brought to their lives. As Kayt said “…more people need to see how rewarding it is [rescuing dogs] over and above the joy of living with pets.”

Stay tuned – more little glimpses of great dogs being rescued to come.

Don’t forget to send me an email of your dog’s rescue story and you could be one of 10 with their own portrait print.

Happy Tail Wagging
